The Kohala Kupuna Softball Team survived a Day 1 loss to Oahu's Bad Company (8-5) by winning their next two games over Pookela from Maui (16-4), and the Big Island's Kona Gold (5-3) to reach the A Division State finals! Kohala plays the Kauai Gents @ 12:45 pm today at Kauai's Vidinha Stadium. Good Luck and congratulations from KNKR Sports!!!

The 2016 High School Softball season is not over!!! The Kohala Cowgirls Softball team heads to Maui with nine players to play first round opponent, the Farrington Lady Governors. First pitch is approximately 4:45 pm Wednesday afternoon from Kahului, Maui. If Kohala gets by Farrington, they'll advance to play the #1 seeded, Nanakuli Golden Hawks! Wish them luck! The Kohala Cowboys Varsity Volleyball team picked up a crucial first round victory at home over Christian Liberty. The Cowboys, coached by the sibling duo of Nicky and U'i Lorenzo, rode a team effort to fend off their scrappy opponents to advance to the D2 Semifinals! Kohala Tennis players Jamesen Keyes, Isaiah Moreno, Chance Souze, Michael Bartolome, and Gabrielle Bartolome show respectable results on the final day of the BIIF tournament at the Mauna Lani. The Kohala Cowgirls Softball Team lost to the Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Warriors 10-0 yesterday, and 17-1 today at Kamehameha's campus in Kea'au. Mykala Tokunaga led the Warriors on the mound throwing four innings in a mercy rule shortened game (ahead by 15 runs in the 4th). In Game 1 of the BIIF Division 2 Girls Softball Championship series, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii defeated the Kohala Cowgirls 10-0 in 5 innings. Game 2 tomorrow at 11:00 am at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii campus. Both teams have already punched their tickets to the state tournament on Maui. The 2 out of 3 Championship Series will decide the top seed for the BIIF going into the D2 state tournament.

The Kohala High School Tennis teams are heating it up at the BIIF Championships being held at the Mauna Lani this weekend. Leading the way is singles player Jamesen Keyes!
