State Introduces “Safe Travels” Screening

NEW ONLINE SAFE TRAVELS APPLICATION MANDATORY ON SEPT. 1

A new travel application is being required for those coming to Hawai’i and all interisland travel.

Planning to travel?

Travelers are required to complete the online Safe Travels application, which will produce a QR code for each passenger.

To make a profile and complete your travel and health information. https://travel.hawaii.gov

This Safe Travels application replaces the current forms for interisland travel.

Get the QR Code

Users may use e-mail, Google, or Facebook logins to access the app. Travelers without smartphones can print the QR code. A QR code is required for every leg of a trip for each adult traveler.

Hawaii Arrivals

Screeners at the airport will be using iPads to read the QR code’s and review the passenger information to determine if the passenger is cleared and/or requires a secondary screening.

The app will generate quarantine check-in reminders as emails and texts. The state Department of Health will be able to contact travelers regarding medical issues. The State will not be using GPS to track your device.

Once a trip begins, Safe Travels will monitor the travelers quarantine over the course of 14 days.
