Congratulations goes out to Miss Aloha Hula 2016, Kayli Ka’iulani Carr from Hula Halau Hi’iakainamakalehua from Oahu!!! Kumu: Rob Ke’ano Ka’upu & Lono Padilla. Runner-up to the title was Brylyn Noelani Aiwohi of Halau Ka Lei Mokihana from Kaua’i who also won the prestigious OHA Hawaiian Language Award. This year’s competition consisted of twelve women from practicing Hula Halau who competed in both Hula Kahiko and Hula Auana for the coveted title of Miss Aloha Hula last night. Did you know??? Kohala has a Miss Aloha Hula too? She is Namakana Lim-Davis of Kohala’s Lim Family who won the title in 2006! Congratulations and now for tonight’s Men & Women’s Group Hula Kahiko and Saturday’s Group Hula Auana. Both nights of competition starts at 6:00 pm at the Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium in Hilo. Awards will be given after the completion of competition on Saturday evening. Aloha!
