Firefighters are working to extinguish a blaze near the 12 mile marker on 'Akoni Pule Highway in North Kohala. An eyewitness informed KNKR news around 10:15 this morning of a fire smoldering near mm 12 on Akoni Pule Highway. At 12:55pm a helicopter was on the scene. There are currently no road closures or advisories.
Helco will be repairing a transmission line that serves North Kohala. Residents will not have power from approximately 9 am till 11 am today.
Kapa'au Post Office is closed until further notice due to burglary today.

After being missing for two weeks, Maui hiker Amanda Eller has been found, says her father. According to a findamanda Facebook post, she was found injured in a ravine in the forest.
