Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency will test new sirens between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. this Thursday and Friday at Kapaa Beach Park and Mahukona Beach Park.
These new sirens are part of the Statewide Siren Modernization Project. The siren will sound six to eight times for 30-second to 1-minute intervals. Testing will include short blasts. During the tests, emergency management officials and technicians will check that installation work on the sirens has been completed properly.
