FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL ISLANDS THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT…

.An upper level trough will strengthen as it digs toward the
islands during the next couple of days. While isolated heavy
showers could develop over all islands, the main threat for heavy
showers and thunderstorms will be along a band of moisture
currently stalled over Maui and northern Big Island. This band
may drift northward on Wednesday night.

…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT…
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for Kahoolawe, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai,
Niihau, Oahu and the Big Island.

* Through late Wednesday night

* An upper level trough will strengthen as it digs toward the
islands during the next couple of days. While isolated heavy
showers could develop over all islands, the main short term
threat for heavy flooding rainfall will be along a band of
moisture currently stalled over Maui and northern Big Island.

* Heavy downpours could cause streams to quickly overflow their
banks, leading to life threatening flash flooding.
Instructions: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Please monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
