Hualalai Road is now open Hualalai road from Alii drive to the Queen Kaahumanu Hwy Extension intersection is now open. It was previously closed due to a brush fire.

Hualalai Road is now open Hualalai road from Alii drive to the Queen Kaahumanu Hwy Extension intersection is now open. It was previously closed due to a brush fire.
The Hawai'i Police Department reports that the Hualalai Road closure has extended to the Kuakini Hwy intersection. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes and to avoid this location. The Old Airport gymnasium has been opened as a shelter.

All motorists are asked to avoid this location and take alternate routes as HFD crews address this brush fire. The expected closure time is not known at this time.

The Kohala Cowgirls Softball Team lost to the Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Warriors 10-0 yesterday, and 17-1 today at Kamehameha's campus in Kea'au.
