Kauai’s Power Company Says Largest Generating Unit Inoperable

An islandwide outage on Kauai'i 's has knocked out the power cooperative's largest generating unit and rolling blackouts could be implemented, the utility said Sunday. At about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, roughly 90 percent of the power cooperative's members had their electricity restored.
