Having formed as a tropical storm Wednesday, Hector reached hurricane status this morning and is continuing its march toward the Central Pacific. Route 190 Now Open

Route 190 (Mamalahoa Highway) is now open to traffic in both directions.  It was closed earlier between Old Saddle Road and Daniel K. Inouye Memorial Highway due to a brush fire.  Waikoloa Road remains CLOSED between Route 190 (Mamalahoa Highway) and Paniolo Avenue due to the brush fire.
