Lava Enters Ocean in Kapoho Bay
Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports that Fissure 8 continues to feed a large channelized flow traveling along Highway 132, the Pahoa-Kapoho Road. Lava entered the ocean in Kapoho Bay last night. Mayor Kim Signs Mandatory Evacuation Order
Mayor Harry Kim issued a mandatory evacuation order for parts of Leilani Estates and an emergency rule for Kapoho Beach Lots and Vacationland Hawaii.
