Hawaii Volcanoes National Park officials say Thursday that unwanted visitors have been found on the grounds: Little Fire Ants. The red ants, which are no longer in size than the thickness of a penny, have been found in the popular Stream Vents area and Mauna Ulu parking lot.

HI Parks Slated for H2O Stations

Water filling stations will be installed at 15 parks in Hawaii in an effort to reduce single-use plastic water bottles, according to state officials. The Division of State Parks received a federal grant of $100,396 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Marine Debris Program for the water bottle filling stations.
