Donate a $ong

We invite you to add your personal flavour of songs to the Kohala Playlist.
While there is no fee for KNKR listeners to submit music, your financial support is deeply appreciated. As a 100% volunteer-run station, listener contributions help us cover essential operating costs. For tax-deductible donations, please donate via our fiscal sponsor, the North Kohala Community Resource Center: click here

Non-profit organizations, we kindly request that you donate at least 2x $ongs to the Kohala Playlist.
Non-Profit Underwriting Guidelines for a message to be played with your songs:
*Organization name and location
*Mission statement or purpose
*Contact information (phone number, website, social media)
*Details about an upcoming event or service, including dates, times, and specific activities
*A direct call to action to volunteer, donate, or attend an event
*A mention of other non-profit partners

For-profit Organizations, we kindly request that you donate at least 5 X $ongs to the Kohala Playlist.
For-Profit Underwriting Guidelines for a message to be played with your songs:
*Business name and location
*Contact information (phone number, website)
*A value-neutral description of the products or services offered.
*An established, non-promotional slogan.

Unlike commercials on traditional radio, underwriting announcements cannot contain:
*Calls to action: You can’t tell listeners to “call now,” “visit our website,” or “buy today.”
*Qualitative or comparative language: You can’t use subjective terms like “the best,” “award-winning,” or “high-quality.”
*Pricing information: You can’t mention prices, discounts, or special offers.
*Inducements to buy: This includes phrases like “2-for-1” or “free.”

Instead, announcements are limited to value-neutral, factual information that serves to identify the business as a supporter of the station.

Eventually, all songs and messages will be mixed up in the Kohala Playlist, which we will start broadcasting when we have gathered enough songs
