The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announces that it has temporarily closed Spencer Park at ‘Ōhai‘ula Beach until noon today Tuesday, August 18, to repair damage from Monday’s flash flooding. Spencer Park at ‘Ōhai‘ula Beach will be reopened at 12 p.m. The Department of Parks and Recreation regrets any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and thanks park patrons for their understanding.

The current unstable weather conditions are likely to continue through tomorrow and result in periods of heavy rains across all parts of the island.
