– Hawai‘i Electric Light Company announces a partial lane closure on Kaiwi Street between Kuakini Highway and Luhia Street in Kailua-Kona from Monday, April 11, to Friday, April 15, 2016. Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA), together with the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency, will conduct siren testing on Hawaii Island today, Thursday April 7, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the following locations: Kukuihaele, Hamakua Waikaumalo, North Hilo Papaikou, South Hilo Residents nearby may hear the siren sound six to eight times for 30-second to one-minute intervals during the identified timeframe.  Testing will include short blasts known as "burps".  […]
