The Department of Water Supply, County of Hawai‘i, will install a new service lateral on the roadway shoulder: Maluhia Road and Akoni Pule HighwayWednesday, September 16, 2020 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A traffic control officer will be on site to direct drivers using Maluhia Road. Both lanes of Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) near the 12 mile marker in North Kohala were closed early this morning due to a brush fire. HFD crews have extinguished the fire and the road is now open.
