The Kohala Cowboys baseball team wins their home opener over Kealakehe yesterday, 6-4, and today, the Kohala Cowgirls lost their softball home opener to Kealakehe 15-5. KNKR's next live broadcast of Kohala Cowboys baseball is Monday at 3pm vs Honokaa, and Cowgirls softball Tuesday at 3pm vs Honokaa.

High Surf Closes Mahukona Beach Park Wharf Side
Hawaii County Civil Defense reported about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday that Laaloa and Kahaluu beach parks in North Kona and the wharf side of Mahukona Beach Park will remain closed through Thursday. A high surf warning remains posted for north-facing shores and a high surf advisory remains posted for west-facing shores through 6 a.m. Friday.
