Hurricane Ignacio surrenders as it moves further away from us and the Tropical Storm warning and watch has been cancelled. We are still under a high surf advisory and heavy rain is still expected. Ignacio is still a very strong hurricane with winds over 140mph and heading this way. It is expected to weaken to a cat 1 or 2 as it approaches; still extremely dangerous. Hurricane Ignacio is now a cat 4 hurricane with winds of 140+mph and heading towards the Hawaiian Islands. It will weaken before arriving to a cat 1 hurricane with winds around 80mph. Hopefully, it will continue on its path North & East of us and we will get only high surf, mild winds, and some rain; but any change in the path can change the weather conditions tremendously. A tropical storm watch has been issued for our Island as Hurricane Ignacio approaches. The path has moved more North and east of the Island but Ignacio will still be a hurricane as it passes and we should have some impact, although it should be less as we are on the west side of the storm.
