5pm Hurricanes Update

Hurricane Ignacio's track has moved again slightly North & East, 720 miles from Hilo. Kohala is till in the cone, but barely. Remember though, the path can change dramatically, so stay tuned and prepared. Hurricane Jimena is still far away but is now predicted to reach the highest category, a cat 5 hurricane (155mph winds); currently it is a cat 3!

ALTHOUGH ITS OVERALL APPEARANCE HAS BECOME A BIT RAGGED IN THE SATELLITE IMAGERY ON THE WEST SIDE THIS AFTERNOON...DEEP CONVECTION NEAR THE CENTER OF IGNACIO CONTINUES TO PUSH TOPS ABOVE THE -80C LEVEL.
